ABOUT GLORIA

Conductor, educator, singer, instrumentalist, DJ, and entrepreneur GLORIA WAN (She/Her) has recently returned home to the Metro Vancouver area after studying, teaching, and performing abroad over the past thirteen years. She has appeared on stage as a beatboxer for High Street Sound, TIME Association (FORM & 'NufSed), 6 Minute Warning, Cantilon Choirs, Blue Thistle, and others. Gloria is known for her interactive and inclusive beatboxing workshops, most recently as part of SING! Edmonton 2023 and as a private guest clinician for local schools and ensembles. Driven by past experiences as a high school choir/psychology teacher, as the drummer/singer/guitarist for an indie rock band, as a chorister in the tenor and bass sections (and soprano, and alto), and other roles here and there, she has consistently built her career upon a passion for community building and human connection. Gloria approaches each situation and environment with a calming sense of focus, to encourage students and collaborators alike. She holds a Master’s degree in Choral Conducting from Westminster Choir College, and Bachelor’s degrees in Music and Secondary Music Education from the University of Alberta. Contact Glo today to chat or set up a meeting!
